How do I open an online shop in Ghana?
Choose what you will sell, make a shop with your own name and link, add your products with a clear photo and a price, choose how customers pay, and share your link on WhatsApp. On Sellyard you can do all of it from your phone in a few minutes, and starting is free.
The steps
- Decide what you will sell first. Start with the few things you can already supply, not everything you might sell one day.
- Make your shop. Give it your name, your logo and your colours. Your shop gets its own link, like yourname.sellyard.app, that you can send to anyone.
- Add your products. Take a clear photo in daylight, type the price, and write one line about it. Customers cannot touch what you sell, so the picture and the price do the talking.
- Choose how customers pay. In Ghana most people pay with mobile money or a card, so make sure both are on, and that the money goes to your own account.
- Say how delivery works. Choose one flat fee, or arrange delivery with each customer, and write it in your own words so nobody is surprised at checkout.
- Share your link. Put it in your WhatsApp Status, your Instagram and TikTok bio, and send it to customers who ask for the price.
What a good shop page needs
A short name that is easy to spell and say. A clear photo of each product. A price in cedis with no surprises. Honest words about delivery and returns. A WhatsApp number so a worried customer can ask a question.
People buy from shops they trust. A shop that looks neat and answers quickly does better than a shop with more products.
How much does it cost?
On Sellyard, starting is free. The free Seller plan lets you add up to 20 products with 3 pictures each and take payments by mobile money or card. We take 3% of each sale made through your shop. When you grow, the Importer plan is GH₵ 50 a month and takes nothing from your sales.
